Deciphering Medicare is a consulting firm with the goal to help people understand and navigate Medicare.
An Insurance Counselor is what you need if you’re not certain what type of insurance you need. Insurance Counselors do not sell insurance. They’re not allowed to get a commission or kick-back for a referral to an agent. You can be certain that any advice or counsel you get is unbiased.
Counselors and agents are not the same thing. If you work with an Insurance Counselor, you will still need to use an insurance agent. The premium for the insurance will be exactly the same as if you did not retain an Insurance Counselor.
The benefit of an Insurance Counselor is in the advice you get, not in the cost of the insurance policy. The Insurance Agent has a monetary investment in guiding you to a specific product or company.
